Warringal Optometrists was established in 1987 by the current owners, Lino Di Guglielmo and Lucilla Colagrande. Both locally raised in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and both Melbourne University Optometry graduates.
The aim was to provide the highest professional eyecare and quality eyewear solutions to have you looking good and more importantly seeing your best.
Now more than 35 years on we continue to build relationships and are recognised as the go to provider of quality eyecare and products in the area.
Our front office team have a wealth of experience and we are frequently commended on their customer service. They are expert in frame section so you can be assured that your spectacle frames will fit well and have you looking good.
We have a busy contact lens practice and choose from all brands available to find the best custom solution for our patients. We have a special interest in custom contact lens fittings such as orthokeratology, keratoconus and scleral lenses.
Located at 67 Burgundy St. Heidelberg. We have free parking at the rear of the practice.
What do we do differently?
We allocate 40 mins for comprehensive examinations. This allows us the time to fully understand our patient’s needs and enough time for our optometrists to ensure each patient has a good understanding of their individual solution.
Professional and Independent
All our optometrists continually undertake education so we can provide the latest best practice care for our clients.
Our practice is held in high regard by the rest of the profession and we are often asked to join adviser panels, give talks and participate in drug and product trials. As an independent practice we are not bound to a limited range of products or supplier. Freedom of choice means we find the best-fit solution for our patients.

Lino graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1984 and enjoys the challenges that optometry presents. In 2000 he was one of the first optometrists in Australia to complete further education at the University of New South Wales and Boston USA to become therapeutically endorsed. Warringal Optometrists is a busy contact lens practice thanks in part to Lino’s keen interest in this area. He has presented on contact lens topics to peers and is a member of the Orthokeratology society of Oceania and the Cornea & Contact lens Society of Australia. He also has a special interest in managing and treating eye conditions. Lino Is fluent in Italian.
Away for Optometry, Lino appreciates good food and wine and enjoys sharing meals with friends and family. He likes to keep healthy by cycling, playing squash and skiing.

Lucilla graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1983. She enjoys the variety of people that optometry have given her the chance to meet and help. She has a keen interest in contact lens lenses fitting especially the new multifocal designs now available. She has a wealth of experience examining and managing children’s vision conditions. She is a caring optometrist who takes her time to listen and discuss the best eye care solution. She is fluent in Italian. Lucilla is a member of the Cornea & Contact lens Society
Away from optometry, Lucilla enjoys travelling and generally spending time with family and friends. To keep healthy, Lucilla enjoys gym and long walks.

Denise graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1983. She enjoys general optometry. Having worn spectacles from an early age, she understands patients’ concerns and has the appropriate recommendations whether it be spectacles or contact lenses. In her spare time Denise enjoys cooking and exploring cuisines from other countries. She loves attending exercise classes and walking. She also enjoys sewing, knitting and other crafts.

Laura graduated from Melbourne University in 2003 and is currently lecturing there. She enjoys assisting people to achieve their best possible eyesight and has a wealth of knowledge to impart.

Hailing originally from New Zealand, where she graduated in Optometry Honours with a therapeutic endorsement, Zenia has almost a decade of experience in the industry. She enjoys providing high quality, customized eyecare and loves that working as an optometrist allows her to serve the community and make a meaningful difference. Zenia has a keen interest in the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease, multifocal contact lens fitting and myopia management. Outside of work, Zenia enjoys dancing, reading philosophy and spending time in nature.
